That W.H. Auden clipping knocked me on my ass; much more concise wordplay than I am used to from that particular author. Blank verse almost like a stodgy/less scattered/skippy-record e.e. cummings.
Thanks so much for sharing these especially the Anne Carson lecture—her interest in Rilke and in animals and in that round table. I have heard some of her lectures (e.g., on edges and corners) and what she brings together to study shatters me and my customary way of looking at things. This lecture on hesitation expands and reinforces my understanding of the Duino Elegies. Her honesty and lack of pretense plus her genius are humbling and inspiring.
Anne Carson's description of the chipmunk munching on the blueberry as "typing" was delightful.
The discussion in part 5 of the lecture about Nastassja Martin's encounter with a bear reminded my of Val Plumwood's reflections on surviving a crocodile roll. Lots on interesting ideas about relating to other animals and the need for epistemic humility--perhaps a mode of hesitation? https://kurungabaa.wordpress.com/2011/01/18/being-prey-by-val-plumwood/

Sam, Did you hear the lecture in person? At the Prado?
